Mother's Day Out

IMG_7035.JPG
St. Paul’s Mother’s Day Out is an outreach ministry of St. Paul Community Church seeking to serve families with children ages 12 months through four years old. By integrating age appropriate mental, emotional, physical, and social skills with a love for Jesus Christ, each child will have the opportunity to receive a firm foundation from which to grow.

5Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
-Deut. 6:5-7

We are instructed to teach this to our children, so they will have a firm foundation from their birth forward, to serve God and each other. We want to partner with you to provide the best care possible for your child/children to establish a firm foundation from which they can learn and grow in the love of Christ.

Daily Activities

We have a weekly and monthly theme and the children will be offered a broad range of activities. Our monthly theme is based on the Fruits of the Spirit and a Bible verse fitting with the spiritual theme. All rooms are divided into learning centers with the older rooms being more clearly defined with self-initiated activities. After all the children have arrived, the class transitions into the more structured daily activities.

There are opportunities for small group or one on one time with the teachers, followed by large group activities. Opportunities for art, music outdoor/indoor play, and healthy snacks are all part of the morning activities done at the same time each day.

This schedule is kept consistent so that even though a child cannot tell time, he or she soon learns what is coming next. Consistency in a child’s day encourages his or her feeling of security.

Curriculum

The curriculum used, MEPSS, is designed to expose the important concepts that will enhance his/ her mental, emotional, physical, social and spiritual development in an age appropriate manner. Teachers are free to add to the curriculum by using the Wee Learn or Creative Curriculums and through their own teaching experience. This curriculum has come under advisement of the lower school curriculum advisor for St. Paul Christian Academy.
